Who Is The Builder Here?

There is two macho men, and the little wife looking over a plan for the garage. Now the garage is supposed to be the ‘man cave’ area right?  Well we’ll see about that . . .

Carla put her coffee cup down, “Can I see your garage plan Craig?”

“Sure, the wheels are turning again Tim.” Craig assumed looking at Carla, “What is on your mind honey?”

“Craig, think ahead 10 years, a big family is in our plans right? Then there is carrying in groceries through your library, not to mention the dripping rain coats and messy snow boots! Personally, I think the garage and entry doorway by the kitchen area would be smarter. Like over here between the breakfast bar and my little office area.” Carla walked to the area she was talking about then came back to the blueprints.

“Would you be able to fit two big vans and a John Deere tractor in here? Oh and the kid’s bikes, garden and lawn equipment, golf clubs and trash cans; and that motor cycle you’ve been talking about?” Carla voiced her opinion as she sat down at the table looking at Craig, then Tim as she put her hands behind her head and said “Measure twice cut once!” Carla thought that Tim is just  out for continuous income from this house.

Tim looked at Carla stretching out his arms, “Oops, Craig she’s right. This plan is for two cars, after three kids you must have a van! Then there’s the motorcycle and snowplow . . . .” Tim just shook his head, “Best to double the size and make it deeper to.” “Tim, actually make it 3 cars wide and deeper.” Craig tilted his head as he winked looking at her “Carla, I wasn’t thinking ahead thanks. Let’s get on it right now Tim.”

Carla said, “Oh, the flower beds; I know what is in that dirt where you’ll be putting the new garage. We have to be careful.” “Why, Carla?” Craig asked.

“Craig, when I was working in the soil around the flowers I thought I hit some stray concrete or rocks with the shovel, now I am not so sure. Those angels are very heavy I could not move them. Think Grand Judy was a creative banker as well.” Carla had an excited look on her face, “I was going to dig up that bed and separate it any way, guess its garden work today.”

Sledge Hammer?

Bet you’re wondering why this title is Sledge Hammer, well it’s about to get interesting folks. Try to remember when you found that missing toy out in the yard years later . . .

Craig’s Glock 32 was still on the kitchen counter. Carla looked up from the paper she was  making notes on, “Craig you should put your gun in the drawer Tim just pulled in the drive.” “Thanks Honey I’m on it.”

“Morning Tim, looks like you have some designs there, come on in.”

“Yes Craig and you look like marriage is agreeing with you two, morning  Carla.” Tim commented with a smile.

Craig’s phone rang, “Oh please excuse me Tim.” “Coffee, Tim” Carla asked “Of course, that is one drink I never turn down, thanks Carla.”

“Blackie and Samuel are on their way with the county forensic team Carla.” Craig stated walking back into the family room. “Samuel!” Carla just shook her head.

“Did you finish the design for the attached garage? That area by my library would be great.” Craig said as he motioned Carla for a refill.

“That’s the best place to have the doorway and it would only require I step down or a little ramp Craig,” Tim commented as they looked over the blueprints. “Could we just slant the whole floor so there wouldn’t be a step?” Craig asked, as he was looking down at the item on the floor “What’s that Tim?”

“Oh, some more treasure I found. I was pulling up your stepping-stones; they are not slippery, just unleveled. These cans are under them.” Tim held up the one for Craig to see.

“I’ll be dipped, Grandpaps sure got into creative banking didn’t he,” Craig said laughing. Carla came over to look “Yes Craig these stepping stones are special alright!” Carla stated to giggle, which prompted a smile on Craig’s face. “Got a sledge hammer, because I don’t think the bank will take this as it is for deposit, they like things in rolls,” Carla laughed.

Carla Takes Charge

Leave it to the lady of the house to get the ball rolling when something needs to be done. And you’re about to see how Carla gets into her wife duties.

About 10, Carla approached Craig with a piece of paper. “Here’s the number for H&A Security and Tim Smith. We need the property fence up and we need the garage built before winter!”

“Yes, you’re right, I’ll call Tim and get him working on the blueprint for the garage and clearing the area close to the house. Then I’ll call Howard and see how the security and property fence is coming along.”

“What’s the paper you have Carla?” Craig asked looking up at her. “The measurements for the drapery and I need you to ok what I want done Craig!” Carla stated. “Why, Carla?” “I want the entire glass block covered as high up as possible with sheers and drapery, and I think that will require drilling!”

re dealing with here, and it needs to be handled. Now would be better than trying to Carla re on the same wave length. Oh ”

Craig walked up to Carla from behind and put his arms around her, “I’m sorry I got ticked off last night. I missed you this morning,” he started nibbling on her neck. “Craig, I shouldn’t have called Howard ooh, damn I wish we had drapes.”

“I have an idea, another first Mrs. Jones.” “But we’re in the kitchen!” “Never done it in the kitchen, we’ll have to solve that mystery” he started to nibble her neck again. “Ooh . . .”
